P.S. When I first moved to Venice,
I worked as a singer every Sunday, inland at the lake Placid
Moose Lodge. Monday's, Wednesday's and
Friday’s I led a singing act at Papadon’s
Italian Restaurant in Englewood for 15 months. Then
I started singing 3 hour a night Sunset Parties on Saturday’s
and Sunday's for 13 months at the Flying Bridge
Restaurant in Osprey until it sold out to the development of
condominiums.
Since then, I’ve mainly
entertained for special events and private parties. I did
however sing at Snook Haven on Sunday afternoons for several
months last season & wonder what's going to
happen to that venue this coming season with the new
vendors.
I'm looking forward to
and have been talking with Sharky's on the Pier about doing a
T.G.I.F. after work party before the night time band starts.
I've also introduced the idea of having mini fashion shows
during my act.
The fashion show part
would be more spontaneous with this scenario. I'm singing a
song and at the end of the song, I say "Hey everyone look over
there, the models from the Venice Tropical Shop are here for
the party. Then I say, Hello ladies why don't you come up to
the stage and show the audience what you’re wearing? As we
talk about the outfits for a minute we mention the stores
specials that week and maybe pass out some store coupons. All
the shops that are on these websites will be offered these
opportunities.
I really enjoy singing
and producing “Fashion & Entertainment Shows” while
bringing people together for good times, In the mean
time, look for me on Venice Avenue while I
continue to work with Venice MainStreet and the downtown
merchants.
